Fredrickson and Miller Earn Opening Day Wins at MIS Madison International Speedway fans endured what seemed to be a winter that would last for ever and it seemed that racing season would never come. But a beautiful spring day with sun and temperatures in the sixties along with two of the top series in the Midwest appearing on one racing program made winter seem like a distant memory. When the day came to an end it would be Dan Fredrickson of Elko, Minnesota winning his first-ever feature at MIS in the ASA Midwest Tour Echo Chainsaw 100 and Rockton, Illinois, driver Jeremy Miller taking home top honors in the Big 8 Series. Madison International Speedway Prepares for 2008 Season It's going to be another big year at Madison International Speedway. The sounds of exciting stock car racing will soon fill the air around MIS as the countdown to the green flag is less than two weeks away. We think this is the most exciting schedule we've ever had at MIS, said General Manager Dave Grueneberg when recently asked about the upcoming season.
The Most Important Practice Session at MIS The most important practice session of the season took place at Madison International Speedway on Sunday morning, April 20. It took place without a flagman, technical inspections, or any engine noise. This practice session also was without any stock cars on the track. So why was it so important?
Big News for MIS Kids Club The MIS Turn 4 Kids Club plans are all coming along very well for the 2008 season. First,we are continuing our association with Rainbow Play Systems. They have agreed to put up a brand new 'Castle Series' playground for us this year. The new playground will be in place and ready for all our Turn 4 Kids by opening day, May 4th. We owe a huge Thank You to a great bunch of people at Rainbow Play Systems.
Practice Dates Set For Madison International Speedway Saturday, April 26th and Saturday, May 3rd Pit Gates Open at 10:00 AM On Track Activity from Noon - 5:00 PM Pit passes are $15.00 each day.
MIS Drivers Vie for National Championship in 2008 Drivers in the Weaver Auto Parts Super Late Model division in 2008 will be vying for not only a track championship but will also be part of the ASA Short Track National Championship. Madison International Speedway is part of the ASA Member Track program and this is one more example of the benefits of our joining forces with the ASA. This is another great opportunity for our drivers. Wouldn't it be great if our track champion also won the national championship and all that goes with it including a tryout with Joe Gibbs Racing, said MIS General Manager Dave Grueneberg. Here's the complete release from the ASA. Drivers should note that MIS will report the results directly to the ASA and this point system does not replace the point system MIS already has in place.

Madison International Speedway Is An ASA MEMBER TRACK Every Driver, Owner and Crew Member in the ASA divisions at Madison International Speedway should obtain a 2008 ASA Racing Membership. This is a positive alignment and is an investment for you as competitors and crew members at Madison International Speedway. While it costs Madison International Speedway extra money - we feel the insurance for participants alone, is well worth it.
MIS Sets ASA Educational Series Meeting Drivers and teams planning on racing in any of the five weekly divisions at Madison International Speedway in 2008 are encouraged to attend a meeting about the exciting ASA Educational Series that is coming to MIS this season.

Kenseth and Stewart Return to MIS All Star Challenge Set for June 24th RK Race Promotions has announced that the All Star Challenge will return to Madison International Speedway on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 featuring Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart. This year's race will be a super late model event. Joining the super late models on the racing program will be the limited late models featuring Ross Kenseth, Matt's son. Gates will open at noon. Practice will be from noon to 3:30 PM with qualifying at 4:00 PM. Racing is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. The rain date for this event will be Wednesday, June 25th. MIS Announces 2008 Racing Schedule Five Weekly Divisions Highlight Racing Program Madison International Speedway has released its 2008 racing schedule that will feature five weekly divisions along with some major special events. Highlighting the special event portion of the schedule will be the return of Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart.
MIS Announces Scholarship Program for High School Students American Speed Association Educational Series Comes to Speedway in 2008 Madison International Speedway has teamed up with the American Speed Association Educational Series to bring an outstanding opportunity to the track for area youth. High school aged drivers and crew members at MIS can become eligible to win college scholarships to Ohio Technical College worth as much as $25,000.
Super Late Models Return to MIS Five divisions to be featured weekly in 2008 Oregon, WI (January 23, 2008)-- Madison International Speedway General Manager Dave Grueneberg has announced that the Super Late Models will return to the track in 2008 as a weekly racing division. The super late models will join the Limited Late Models, Area Sportsman, Bandits, and Legends as weekly divisions. The Bandits and Legends will race on the quarter mile with the other divisions taking on Wisconsin's Fastest Half-Mile.
2007 Champions honored at MIS Banquet Changes for 2008 include bringing back Super Lates Stoughton, WI (January 19, 2007)-- Drivers in five divisions were recognized tonight at The Heights in Stoughton as part of the Madison International Speedway annual racing banquet. Over 300 guests braved the sub-zero temperatures outside to make the trip to Stoughton to honor the drivers and teams that put on an outstanding show in 2007. In addition to the point fund checks and trophies, track officials also made several major announcements.
Area Sportsman Back on Track at MIS Division to Return to Half-Mile in 2008. The Area Sportsman are back at MIS. MIS General Manager Dave Grueneberg announced today that the Area Sportsman division will return to MIS in 2008 and will be racing weekly. There has been a lot of interest from drivers to see this division back at MIS and on the big track. We are definitely going to make this happen in 2008, said Grueneberg. The division last ran weekly at MIS in 2006 on the quarter mile after several seasons on the half-mile. We are looking for a very competitive field of drivers to race with us in 2008 and I know these guys will put on a great show, added Grueneberg. The rules for the Area Sportsman are still being finalized and will be released very shortly. Drivers who have questions are encouraged to contact Grueneberg at 608.513.2278. The 2008 season opener at MIS will be on Sunday, May 4th.
