Weather Wins Out at MIS

by John Wells

Friday, June 22, 2007 (Oregon, WI)

Tonight was supposed to be the much anticipated "Fireworks Extravaganza" with all three weekly racing divisions in action, but unfortunately the weather refused to cooperate as all events at MIS were rained out tonight.

However, a big week of racing lies just ahead for MIS fans.

Two big events are scheduled for the upcoming week highlighted by the First Supply All Star Challenge presented by Capital City Harley Davidson on Tuesday, June 26th. This super late model event will feature Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart and the best super late model drivers in the midwest. This will be one of the biggest short track racing events in the country in 2007.

Pit gates will open at 9:00 AM for competitors and crews with the grandstands open at Noon. Practice for super late models, Legends, and Bandoleros will run from Noon until 3:00 PM with qualifying at 4:00 PM.

Racing is scheduled to begin at 7:00 with super late model qualifying events and heats for the Bandoleros and Legends. The First Supply All Star Challenge 100 presented by Capital City Harley Davidson is slated for 8:00 PM.

Racing then continues on Friday, June 29th with Construction Labor Management Night featuring four divisions of racing: Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Models, Rockweiler Insulation Limited Late Models, Roto Rooter Bandits, and the American Short Tracker / International four cylinders. Hot laps begin at 4:45 with qualifying at 6:30 and racing at 7:30.
