By John Wells

Monday, July 2, 2007 (Oregon, WI)

The month of July is going to feature something for at Madison International Speedway as the on-track action really heats up. “This is going to be a very busy month here at MIS,” said General Manager / Promoter Dave Grueneberg. “This month's schedule is going to feature something for every race fan including a pair of regional series and an open wheel night.”

Action begins on Friday, July 6th with “Desperate Housewives Night” at MIS. The racing program will include the Rockweiler Insulation Limited Late Models, Roto Rooter Bandits, American Short Trackers / International four cylinders, and the USST Super Trucks. This will be the second visit in 2007 by the Super Trucks. But there will be much more to this night including a coin drop for kids at intermission and family recliner races on the quarter mile. The “desperate housewives” will also have an opportunity to take to the track in a special race on the quarter mile. Many other activities will also be taking place as well. “This is going to be a fun night. Adult tickets are just $8.00 and we want people to have a of fun,” said MIS Marketing Manager Holly Coley.

The ASA Late Model Series Northern Division will come to MIS on Saturday, July 7th for the Mad Summer Meltdown 100. The traveling stars from the ASALM North will be taking on many of the weekly drivers from the Madison Late Models in a 100 lap feature. The Mid American Stock Car Series, Grand National Vintage Series, and Central States Super Cups are also scheduled to appear. The rain date for this event is Sunday, July 8th.

It will be Clear Channel Radio Night on Friday, July 13th with five divisions in action including the Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Models, Rockweiler Insulation Limited Late Models, Roto Rooter Bandits, Legends, and Bandoleros. Fans will also have the opportunity to see some of the favorite area radio personalities take to the quarter mile in a special racing event. Fans can look forward to a night of fun and an opportunity to win some great prizes.

One of the biggest events of 2007 comes to MIS on Friday, July 20th when the ASA Midwest Tour comes to town. This event will be part of the e “Summer Shootout Series.” According to series vice president Steve Einhaus, “We have put together a fantastic group of NASCAR drivers to compete in the series this summer and it gives our fans a wide variety of entertainment Value. The list of drivers that will be racing with us shows how important it is to them to help everyone stay successful. We are honored that they chose our series and especially happy to pass it along to each race track.”

The Madison event will be the fourth in the “Summer Shootout Series. The list of drivers coming to MIS for the Echo Chain Saw- Five Star Race Car Bodies No Bull 100 presented by Briggs and Stratton and Lancaster Toyota include NASCAR stars Kyle Busch, Johnny Sauter, and Ron Hornaday along with MIS legends Dick Trickle and Rich Bickle Jr. It will be a much anticipated return for Trickle who is the winningest driver ever at MIS with 72 feature wins and multiple track championships.

However the list of talented drivers does not end there. The ASA Midwest Tour also features a group of touring stars representing tracks from throughout the Midwest. These drivers include Kenny Richards of Montello, Wisconsin, Dan Fredrickson of Elko, Minnesota, Nathan Haseleu of Pardeeville, Wisconsin, Rod Wheeler of Hortonville, Wisconsin, Josh Vadnais of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Brad Mueller of Random Lake, Wisconsin, former MIS track champion Dave Feiler of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Donny Reuvers of Dundas, Minnesota, Adam Royle of Farmington, Minnesota, Steve Carlson of West Salem, Wisconsin, Travis Sauter of Sauk City, Wisconsin, and Jamie Iverson of Escanaba, Michigan. “Our driver list proves that experience is what makes you successful. Our events have had very few cautions and the amount of driving experience is unreal. Just count upthe number of track championships amongst our group and you'll be amazed,” commented Einhaus.

The rain date for this event is Saturday, July 21st.

The Big Eight Limited Late Model Series returns to Madison on Friday, July 27th as part of JP Cullen Night at the races. “Last time the Big Eight Series was here we had over 40 cars,” said Grueneberg. “We were very excited to be able to have them back for a second event. This will be one of the best limited late model events of the season.” In addition to the Big Eight cars the racing program will also feature the Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Models, Roto Rooter Bandits, and American Short Trackers / International Four Cylinders.

Open Wheel Night presented by Pepsi is slated for Saturday, July 28th with five divisions featured. Highlighting the action will be the USAC Regional Midgets who will be taking on Wisconsin's Fastest Half Mile. But the open wheel action doesn't end there as the Kenyon Midgets, Ford Focus Midgets, Rascal Outlaws, and Formula Indy Racing Association all come to MIS. “This is going to be a big event. There are a lot of open wheel fans in the area and we think we've brought together a wide variety of divisions for people to see,” added Grueneberg.

Each and every night at Madison International Speedway is also about families. MIS features the Turn Four Kids' Club that includes nightly giveaways and prize drawings including free bikes and much more. There's also the Junior Flagman drawing and a store dedicated just for the kids. Top that off with a brand new playground and MIS is second to none when it comes to kids. And for most events at MIS kids eleven and under are free! How many other sporting events can say that?

It's pretty easy to see that Madison International Speedway is truly the place to be during the month of July. It pays to come often as for most events adult fans can use their ticket stub from the previous race to receive $2.00 off a regular admission. Combine that with the fact that children eleven and under are free and you won't find a better family value anywhere.
