The Skies Light Up Over MIS This Friday It's become an annual tradition that never fails to amaze the fans. It's an experience that somehow seems to get bigger and better every year. Over the years it has become one of the most anticipated events of the racing season. The Boucher Group presents "Fireworks Extravaganza" this Friday night at Madison International Speedway. Once again your local "Gods of Thunder", Thunder Cat Fireworks, will put on one of the biggest and best fireworks shows in the midwest. "This is an amazing show and every year the guys from Thunder Cat seem to outdo themselves from the year before," said MIS General Manager Dave Grueneberg. "This year will be no exception." With perfect weather predicted and exciting point races in all three weekly divisions, this Friday night is another "must see" show at MIS. Racing action includes the Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Models, Rockweiler Insulation Limited Late Models, and the Roto Rooter Bandits. Currently Bobby Wilberg leads the point race over Tom Gille in the Madison Late Models and also leads the points in the Limited Late Models over Scott Broughton. Steve Dickson continues to pace the leaderboard in the Bandits just ahead of Bobby Selsing Jr. The racing program will also include the "Faster Pastor" race presented by Life 102.5 FM. According to MIS Marketing Manager Holly Coley, "This event was very popular last year and we're looking forward to another great show." Fans can go to the Life1025.com website to nominate their favorite pastor. The action doesn't stop there as MIS will once again treat fans to a "Train Race." The train race features teams of three cars that are chained together and will be racing on both the quarter mile and half mile. "This is pretty wild," added Grueneberg. The trains will be racing on turns one and two of the big track before crossing over to turns three and four of the short track. Fans will also have an opportunity to once again vote for their favorite drivers and best appearing car. Voting began last week and will continue this week. Winners will receive a plaque at the annual banquet which will be held in early 2008. The Turn Four Kids Club will also be having a corn roast and kids club member can register for the "Family Recliner Races" that will be held on August 24th. Fan gates open at 4:30 with hot laps at 4:45, qualifying at 6:30 and racing at 7:30. Adult admission for this week will be $15.00 with kids eleven and under free.
