WCS Races Into MIS This Friday Night by John Wells This Friday night is Tribute to America Night at Madison International Speedway with the return of the Super Late Models and the Wisconsin Challenge Series (WCS). The series always puts on a great show and who could forget the race last year! We are looking for a very competitive field of super lates to come to MIS to take on Wisconsin's Fastest Half-Mile. This is the second appearance of the season for the WCS. Back in May Nathan Haseleu took home the checkered flag in a hotly contested race. Also in action on Friday night will be the Roto Rooter Bandits, RX Automotive Hobby Stocks, INEX Bandoleros, and INEX Legends. To top off a big night of racing we will be having a trailer race. The trailer race will pay $300 to the winner. Those interested in competing should contact Dave Grueneberg at 608.513.2278. Even though the point races are done in the Bandits, we are looking forward to seeing a stellar field at MIS this Friday in anticipation of the Fall Classic on September 21st. Look for a solid group of Hobby Stocks, Bandoleros, and Legends as well. Speaking of Bandoleros and Legends, they are also racing for points at MIS with two shows remaining... September 7th and 21st. Fourteen year old Jesse Bernhagen of Markesan has a slight lead over eleven year old Caylie Duncanson of DePere in the Bandoleros. In the Legends it's all "Downtown" Blake Brown who is solidly out in front. Friday's Tribute to America program will feature special events conducted by the National Guard along with a short fireworks program. Due to a scheduling conflict involving more pressing matters, the Blackhawk helicopter landing will not occur on Friday.
