Chris Loberg Sprints to Grand National Vintage Series Victory

Chris Loberg of Menominie, Wisconsin, won the twelve lap feature for the Grand National Vintage Racing Series.

Twelve cars took the green flag with the Dodge Charger of Mark Freund taking the early lead. Freund's lead would be short-lived as Jamie Schmidt would pass him coming down the backstretch on the second lap.

Schmidt would lead until lap 5 when Bob Heine would move to the inside going into turn three and clear Schmidt for the lead coming out of turn four. Mark May would then move into second with his Marty Robbins machine.

Heine would continue his lead for the next several laps with Loberg showing a lot of speed and closing the gap quickly.

On lap 11, Loberg would power his way past Heine coming out of turn two and never look back as he would easily take home the checkered flag. Heine would finish second followed by May, Jim Heiland, and Tim Paisley.

Grand National Vintage heat races were won by Schmidt and Heine.
