Opening Friday Night Rained Out at MIS Oregon, WI (Friday, May 8, 2009) All of the elements were in place for a great opening night of racing at Madison International Speedway, but Mother Nature had other plans for the race teams and fans as the rains came during the heat races forcing track officials to cancel the evening’s events. Qualifying had been completed for all five weekly divisions along with three heat races for the Late Models, two heat races for the Area Sportsman, and one heat for the Hobby Stocks. With rain bearing down on the speedway, MIS officials attempted to get the Late Model feature on the track only to see the rain get heavier and all hope for a night of racing lost. Racing continues on Friday, May 15th with action in the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models, Brown Heating and Air Conditioning Area Sportsman, Weaver Auto Parts Hobby Stocks, Roto Rooter Bandits, and Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends. Pit gates open at 3:30, practice at 4:45, qualifying at 6:20 with racing at 7:30. Adult ticket prices are just $9.00 with children eleven and under free. | ||
