Matt Kenseth Returning to MIS By John Wells Oregon, WI (Thursday, July 16, 2009) -- Madison International Speedway General Manager Dave Grueneberg has announced that Matt Kenseth will be returing to MIS on Saturday, August 29th as part of the MIS Triple 50's.
Two fifty-lap feaures will be held for the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models with the Mid American Stock Car Series also competing in a fifty-lap feature on Wisconsin's Fastest Half-Mile.
Kenseth will be competing in the Late Model events meaning that he will be going head to head against his son, Ross. “It's going to be fun to see Matt and Ross racing together,” said Grueneberg.
This event was originally scheduled for Milwaukee but was moved to Madison. “We are just very excited that we could bring this event to Madison,” said Grueneberg. “It will be point races for our late models and these guys have been putting on a great show all year. The Mid Am Series is very competitive so we're looking forward to some awesome racing.”
Fans who purchased hospitality tickets from RK Race Promotions for Milwaukee will still be able to use their VIP tickets at MIS. Hospitality hours will be from 2:00 - 7:00 with former Green Bay Packers players Gilbert Brown and William Henderson doing their version of “Deal / No Deal”. Spectator gates will open at Noon with practice from 12:30 - 3:30, qualifying at 4:00 with the first race at 7:00. An on-track autograph session will follow qualifying. General admission tickets are $15.00 for twelve and up; $5.00 for 6-11; five and under free. | ||
