It's a Big Weekend at MIS Matt Kenseth Returns to Wisconsin's Fastest Half-Mile. By John Wells Oregon, WI (Tuesday, August 25, 2009)- It will be Kenseth versus Kenseth this Saturday night at Madison International Speedway as father and son compete in Twin 50s for the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models. This will be the first time the two have raced against one another. It's all part of a big weekend of racing at MIS. Here's a preview of what you can expect. Season Championship Night on Friday Four divisions will crown champions on Friday night at MIS. The Brown Heating and Air Conditioning Area Sportsman will finish their season with Twin 20 lap features. There will also be Twin 15 lap features for the Weaver Auto Parts Hobby Stocks. The Roto Rooter Bandits and Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends will also be in action in their final points races of the season. Also joining the racing program will be the International Four Cylinders and USST Super Trucks. Current point leaders are Jay Kalbus (Area Sportsman), Team Luck / Ambrose (Hobby Stocks), Chester Ace (Bandits), and Max McNamara (Legends). Pit gates open at 3:30 with practice at 4:45, qualifying at 6:15, and racing at 7:30.
Major Special Event Set for Saturday The very competitive Rockweiler Insulation Late Models and the Mid American Stock Car Series will take to Wisconsin's Fastest Half-Mile on Saturday night. Matt Kenseth will be here to race against his son Ross and the best late model drivers in the Midwest in a pair of 50 lap features that will pay $3000 to the overall winner. VIP hospitality tickets are available at mattkenseth.com. Former Green Bay Packers players Gilbert Brown and William Henderson will be at MIS as part of the hospitality package. Both late model features will be point races for the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models. A special point system based on finishing positions will determine the overall payout. A driver starting both features will receive at least a total of $500. Pit gates will open at 10:00 AM with practice from noon to 3:30. Qualifying for both divisions will begin at 4:00 followed by an on-track autograph session at 5:30. The first race is set to begin at 7:00. Grandstand admission is just $15.00 for adults.
