Moyer’s Team Up in 2010

By John Wells

Aaron and Tony Moyer of Eden, Wisconsin, are teaming up to run for the championship at MIS in 2010 in the Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends division running the familiar three digit number 140.

Aaron is going to be running the Summer Shootout Series in North Carolina this summer so he will be at MIS early in the season and at the end of the year. In between times his “rookie” father will piloting the Legend.

Their goals are slightly different in 2010. For Aaron he wants to win a race at the Summer Shootout and qualify for the A main at the Million Dollar Race in North Carolina. “We want to be able to beat Tim Narr at MIS,” said Tony with a smile in reference to his friend and fellow competitor.

The entire family is part of the racing program for the Moyers. “Mom takes video, Mya helps in the pits, and now dad helps me drive. The rest of my family comes down on Friday nights to watch a great show of racing,” said Aaron.

“We love racing at Madison for two reason. The big one is the fans. There are tons of loyal fans that come each week. There are tracks we race at and sometimes there are only 20 people watching. The other reason is the “Ring of Fire.” It’s very unique and it isn’t the easiest place to get around. This year for dad everyone will be his main competition but for me it’s always going to be Max McNamara,” said Aaron.

Aaron definitely has goals for his racing career but keeps everything in perspective. “A long term goal is to get myself into a position so I can race for a very competitive late model team and eventually be in NASCAR. We all have dreams and it sure is fun chasing them. Good luck to all the Legends drivers at MIS because you will need it with my dad out there.”

Sponsors for 2010 include Fred’s Fastrac Sales and Service, Lake Country Pediatrics, JF Ahern, Sheboygan Pool and Spa, Set in Ink, FDL Insurance, TNT Total Fitness, and Jeeps Auto Body.
