The Countdown Begins at MIS

Monday, December 7, 2009 (Oregon, WI)- The countdown is on for the start of the 2010 racing season at Madison International Speedway, an ASA member track. Fans and teams can now officially mark their calendars for Sunday, May 2nd when the ASA Midwest Tour comes to Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile. This exciting opening event will also be the second annual Joe Shear Classic.

Fall Classic Falls to the Elements

For the fans, the race teams, and MIS management it certainly wasn't the way anyone wanted to see the 2009 racing season end at Madison International Speedway. But after nearly a month without any significant rain, Mother Nature decided to return to southern Wisconsin this week and force the cancellation of the third annual Fall Classic.

Jeremy Miller, Chester Ace and Max McNamara Win MIS Championships

Oregon, WI (Friday, September 4, 2009)- Jeremy Miller finished the year in style by winning one of the Twin 30s for the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models enroute to his 2009 track championship at Madison International Speedway. For the second year in a row, Chester Ace (Roto Rooter Bandits) and Max McNamara (Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends) took home titles.

Miller won the first late model feature while Ryan Goldade picked up the second event. McNamara made it a clean sweep by winning the rescheduled points event and the non-points race while Jody Schmidt took home the checkered flag in the Roto Rooter Bandits feature and 2009 track champion Jay Kalbus won in the Brown Heating and Air Conditioning Area Sportsman non-points race.

Wisconsin's Fastest Half Mile Belongs to Matt Kenseth

Oregon, WI (Sunday, August 30, 2009)- Matt Kenseth made a triumphant return to Madison International Speedway by sweeping the Twin 50s for the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models. Kenseth edged his son, Ross, to win the first feature and held off Nathan Oppliger enroute to taking home the checkered flag in the second feature. The event was run on Sunday after rain washed out the show on Saturday night. Read More
